The Walter Graves Memorial Award

Open to full and part-time students enrolled in year 1 or year 2 of Heavy Duty Equipment Repair at the Akerley Campus.

Students must demonstrate

  • Financial need
  • Commitment and interest in program
  • Community involvement
  • Good academic standing

About the donor
Walter was a naturally gifted mechanic with no formal initial training in this trade, as well as a strong community leader. He was a longstanding fireman and former chief of the Port Lorne Fire Department. Walter served the Agricultural Community of Annapolis, Kings, Digby, and Lunenburg Counties for over 60 years. Annapolis County Federation of Agriculture plans to raise funds to support the creation of The Walter Graves Memorial Award for students enrolled in the Heavy Duty Equipment Repair Program.
