Open to full-time students who will be entering first year of study of Civil Engineering Technology, Electrical – Industrial Maintenance and Controls, Environmental Engineering Technology – Water Resources, Geographic Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems Technician or Plumbing at any campus where the eligible programs are offered.


Application assessment will consider

  • Financial need
  • Career interest
  • Academic merit – achievement of an 80% average or above in most recent education
  • Good academic standing
  • Self-identification: female


About the award
This award is open to women in non-traditional careers that are entering one of the eligible NSCC programs listed. Included with this award is an opportunity for the successful recipient to complete their required work placement with Halifax Water as well as an opportunity for summer employment with Halifax Water. Conditions of employment, such as criminal background check and a clear Driver’s Abstract, must be met and offers are made at the sole discretion of Halifax Water.
