Looking Forward 25 Years Award


Awarded to a full or part-time student who will be enrolled in any year in any program at any campus.


Students must demonstrate

  • Community leadership and embodiment of NSCC values
  • Community involvement, volunteerism and extra-curricular involvement
  • Applicants must identify as being part of an equity seeking group


About the donor
As a way to celebrate NSCC’s 25th Anniversary, we are creating this legacy award for equity seeking students. Our “Looking back. Thinking forward.” theme is reflective of the African symbol of Sankofa meaning – “GO BACK AND GET IT”. African Nova Scotian community voices draw upon the wisdom of the past, then carry it into the future (Sankofa), to recognize our strength of support for each other and community. We will continue to enhance the work of our institution as we work to build a more equitable community, firmly continuing to be forward thinking while grounded in the knowledge of our past. As part of this promise, we will be offering this “Looking Forward 25 Years Award” to welcome equity seeking students to NSCC.
