Future is Youth (FIY) Bursary


Funded by the Government of Canada, the Future is Youth (FIY) program is open to full and part-time students in any year of study of any program at any campus.


Eligibility
Applicants must:

  • Be Canadian citizens or permanent residents
  • Self-identify as Indigenous and/or Black
  • Be between the ages of 17-30 years
  • Have completed a high school diploma or GED
  • Be under court order within the last few years and be involved with Nova Scotia Community Corrections (including mental health/wellness court and domestic violence court)


Payment details
If eligible, recipients can receive free tuition and funding to cover college fees, with an additional $1,400/month for living expenses while studying


Application process
Incoming and current students must complete the application, which includes a declaration of eligibility and then participate in an interview led by NSCC’s Youth Program Support Navigator.
