Open to full-time students who will be graduating this spring from the Digital Animation – 2D, Digital Animation – 3D, Game Development – Game Art, Game Development – Programming and Design, IT Systems Management and Security, or IT Web Programming programs at the Truro campus.


Application assessment will consider

  • The applicant’s commitment to the enrichment of the community as well as how their actions benefited their fellow students, the community of Truro and Colchester County and/or their community of origin, through the submission of a portfolio
  • Creativity, caring, compassion and volunteerism
  • Applicants must also include an updated resume and samples of creative works in their portfolio
  • Good academic standing


About the donor
The Sienna and Leif Labelle Memorial Award was created to celebrate the lives of Sienna and Leif Labelle, whose loving spirits and kind hearts inspired a community. Sienna and Leif are loved and remembered by their three siblings, Saren Shawnacey and Keifer Labelle. 

First awarded in 2004, the award was established by the children’s father Peter Labelle, Faculty of Digital Animation, NSCC Truro Campus.

  1. To be considered eligible for this award, you must submit your portfolio to Student Services at the Truro Campus.

    Your portfolio must articulate your commitment to the enrichment of the community of Truro and Colchester County and/or your community of origin. It will be judged on the following key characteristics: creativity, caring, compassion and volunteerism. Your portfolio must also include an updated resume and samples of your creative work. Please indicate that you meet this eligibility requirement.

  2. As mentioned, a requirement of this award is that you must submit a portfolio which demonstrates your commitment to the enrichment of the community as well as how your actions benefited your fellow students, the community of Truro and Colchester County and/or your community of origin.

    If your portfolio is housed online, please provide a link to your online portfolio. If your portfolio is paper based, please drop off your portfolio to Student Services at the Truro Campus before the application deadline.
