David and Isabel Buller Urram Award


Open to full and part-time students in any year of study in any program at any campus.


Students must demonstrate

  • Overcoming of obstacles and challenges
  • Why obtaining a post-secondary education is important to them
  • Good academic standing
  • Preference will be given for students in equity seeking groups


About the donor
The David and Isabel Buller Urram Award was established in honour of David and Isabel’s belief in power of education to transform lives. Urram is the Scotts Gaelic term for dignity and respect. As immigrants from Scotland, they fell in love with Nova Scotia and her people on their first visit in 2001. This award is for NSCC students that are the first person in their family to pursue post-secondary education in any program at any campus. Preference will be given for students in equity seeking groups.
