The Women Innovating in Nova Scotia (WINS) Bursary
Open to full and part-time students who will be enrolled in any year of study of any program under the Schools of Trades and Transportation and Technology and Environment at any campus. This award is renewable for students in multi-year programs up to a maximum of two years (based on successful completion of first year in program and remaining in good academic standing).
Application assessment will consider
- Financial need
- Passion for learning and pursuit of a career in sciences, trades, technology
- Student’s demonstrated willingness to make a transformational change in their lives, making a life changing decision, overcoming obstacles and turning their lives in a new direction through education
- Good academic standing
- Self-identification: female
Award distribution
- Two (2) awards will be designated to applicants self-identifying as Mi’kmaw/Indigenous
- Two (2) awards will be designated to applicants self-identifying as a Person with Disabilities who are registered with NSCC Accessibility Services
- Two (2) awards will be designated to applicants self-identifying as African Nova Scotian or Black
- Two (2) awards will be designated to new Canadians

The Women Innovating in Nova Scotia (WINS) Bursary is a powerful catalyst for prosperity.
Originally established in 2009 by the Nova Scotia Advisory Council on the Status of Women, this bursary has helped over one hundred women who are entering the fields of science, trades, and technology complete their NSCC education.
This award has been made possible by the Nova Scotia Advisory Council on the Status of Women and their partner, the Province of Nova Scotia.
