About the award
This award was established in memory of Reginald Moore. Reg was born a gardener, from an early age he loved to cultivate the earth and nurture plants. Reg took great pride and pleasure in helping students during his career as a professor of Geology at Acadia University. He was a passionate man who was constantly learning and continuing his education. He had a lifelong interest in philosophy, theology, languages and social justice. Reg grew his garden for his wife Pat and others to enjoy. He loved touring visitors through the many secret pathways and grottoes. An ‘Open Garden’ sign still hangs on the potting shed in Reg’s garden at Kent Lodge in Wolfville.
