The Efficiency Nova Scotia Bright Futures Diversity Award


Open to full or part-time students who will be enrolled in year 1 of the Electrical Technician, Energy Sustainability Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology – Water Resources, Electronic Engineering Technician and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning – Geothermal programs at any campus where the eligible programs are offered.


Application assessment will consider

  • Commitment and interest in program
  • How career will advance efficiency and the way we use energy in Nova Scotia in the next 10 years
  • Good academic standing
  • Self-identification as belonging to an equity-seeking group


About the donor
Efficiency Nova Scotia is Canada’s first energy efficiency utility. Specializing in residential and commercial projects to improve energy efficiency, Efficiency Nova Scotia has saved Nova Scotians over $1 billion in energy costs and contributed 25% of Nova Scotia’s GHG reductions. Green Schools Nova Scotia, an initiative of Efficiency Nova Scotia, brings free education on energy efficiency into classrooms across Nova Scotia. Green Schools focuses on providing quality environmental education while promoting green careers to future generations of energy efficiency experts.

Energy efficiency is one of Nova Scotia’s fastest growing industries. The Efficiency Nova Scotia Bright Futures Diversity Award aims to expand and diversify this sector by encouraging students to consider the benefits of improving efficiency within their programs.
