NSCC High School Entrance Awards


Open to full-time students who will be enrolled in year 1 in any certificate/diploma program at any campus.


Application assessment will consider

  • Extracurricular and/or community involvement
  • Student’s understanding of the merits of a community college education and how it will help them make a more meaningful contribution to the province of Nova Scotia
  • Academic achievement of a passing grade in all high school courses, with a minimum academic average of 75% (based on an average calculation of all marks from grades 11 and 12)
  • Entrance to NSCC directly from a Nova Scotia high school (exceptions only for those who have been on waitlists since high school graduation with no other educational pursuits in the interim)


Additional application considerations

  • Student must have applied to and been accepted into a full-time program at NSCC for the upcoming academic year
  • Student must have paid the non-refundable NSCC tuition deposit


About the award
We offer entrance awards to recognize outstanding students entering an NSCC certificate or diploma program directly from a Nova Scotia high school. These awards financially support students who demonstrate outstanding leadership in their communities as well as academic achievement.
