Ann Lockhart Memorial Mature Student Achievement Award


Open to full-time students enrolled in year 1 of any program offered at the Kingstec Campus.


Application assessment will consider

  • Financial need
  • Leadership
  • Community and/or campus involvement
  • Applicants must be a mature student returning to studies after a minimum five year absence from their education


About the award
Ann Lockhart was a Charter Member of the New Minas Sunrise Rotary Club since its inception in March 2000. She was a devoted Rotarian until her passing in January 2020. In addition to the many volunteer and community activities she was involved in, Ann was thoroughly engaged in all aspects of Rotary.

A multiple Paul Harris Award recipient, True Rotarian Award recipient and past Secretary and Club Director, Ann was the heart and soul of the New Minas Sunrise Club. She was welcoming and inclusive to all members, guests and friends of Rotary. Ann had a dedication and attention to detail with a desire for finding a meaningful role for everyone in her club. Ann’s main passion was youth and students. She was committed to supporting students through exchange programs, Adventures in Citizenship and Rotary Student Awards. It is with great honour that the New Minas Sunrise Club will present its Mature Student Achievement Award each year to a deserving NSCC student in Ann’s memory.
