About the award
Nova Scotia Community College gratefully acknowledges the generosity of family, friends and colleagues of Joseph (Joe) Gallagher Sr. for establishing The Joe Gallagher Bursary for Water Resources which honours and celebrates Joe’s advocacy for access to clean community water. Joe Gallagher was a self-taught individual who had a distinguished career in the water works industry in the Halifax area. With a career spanning more than 40 years, Joe was an advocate for clean community water and was concerned about the politics of water management and supply both domestically and in developing countries. This bursary is designed to assist a student studying at NSCC who shares his passion.
