The Starhaven Award

Open to full-time students enrolled in any year of study of Dental Assisting – Level II, Medical Laboratory Technology, Practical Nursing or Practical Nursing – Mi’kmaw and Indigenous Offering at any campus where the eligible programs are offered. This award is renewable for students in multi-year programs (based on successful completion of first year in program and remaining in good academic standing).

Application assessment will consider

• Financial need
• Career aspirations
• Good academic standing
• Self-identification: Canadian citizen and Indigenous/Aboriginal

About the donor
The Starhaven Award has been established by Dr. John and Theresa Pook in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action #23(i) “Increase the number of Aboriginal professionals working in the health-care field.”
