Nova Scotia Wildfire Emergency Bursaries

Open to full and part time students who have been affected by the Nova Scotia wildfires.

Application assessment will consider:

• Financial need
• Living in the Shelburne area and have been evacuated

About the award
On the weekend of May 27-28, 2023, wildfires started through our Province and have caused/continue to cause incredible devastation for so many communities. We understand that students may be impacted through displacement, damage, lost power, and internet. As such, we are offering these bursaries for those students most affected. Applications will be assessed on a “first-come, first-qualified” basis and therefore the application could close prior to the posted deadline. These bursaries are made possible thanks to the generosity of NSCC Foundation donors.

Through the campus, students can also access Urgent Aid in support of unforeseen expenses. Students are encouraged to connect with their Student Services Advisor for additional information or support in the application process.
