SMART WIL Award

Open to full and part time students enrolled in any program at any campus who are planning to participate in unpaid work-integrated learning opportunities (work experience/clinical placement etc.) in fall 2023. Applications will be considered upon submission and recipients will be selected on an ongoing basis until funds have been depleted. Unfortunately, International students are not eligible for this bursary.

Students selected for this bursary will be required to complete ESSS 1021 – SMART WIL Bursary, a self-directed career development course found in Brightspace. The course must be completed by December 15, 2023.


Application assessment will consider

  • Student’s plans for their work-integrated learning course and WIL placement and how this bursary will support them in achieving their goals
  • Good academic standing


About the donor
This bursary is sponsored by Co-operative Education and Work Integrated Learning (CEWIL) Canada. The bursary provides support for students participating in mandatory, unpaid, Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programs as part of their NSCC program. CEWIL hopes that by helping remove these barriers, students will be set up for success in their WIL courses and on their educational journey.
