Cara Beals Memorial Award

Open to full and part-time students enrolled in any year of study in any program offered at the Akerley, Institute of Technology and Ivany campuses.

Application assessment will consider

• Financial need
• Good academic standing
• Self-identification: applicants must identify as African Nova Scotian and Female

About the award
This award honours the life and legacy of Cara Beals, a treasured NSCC employee of 23 years who recently lost her courageous battle to cancer. Brave, dedicated, warm, and funny are just a few qualities that describe Cara’s personality. Her loss is felt deeply by the entire NSCC community. As a committed volunteer of NSCC student awards, Cara was passionate about supporting students in accessing education. She was a lifelong learner who understood the value of education.
