Nova Scotia Forest Innovation Trust Award - Fall


Open to full or part-time students enrolled in any year of study of eligible programs at any campus where the eligible programs are offered.


Eligible programs include:

  • Cabinetmaking
  • Carpentry – Diploma
  • Carpentry – Renovation and Restoration
  • Environmental Engineering Technology – Water Resources
  • Forest Geomatics and Biometrics Technology
  • Geographic Information Systems
  • Geographic Information Systems Technician
  • Geomatics Engineering Technology
  • Geospatial Data Analytics
  • Heavy Duty Equipment Repair
  • Industrial Mechanical
  • Natural Resources Environmental Technology
  • Remote Sensing


Application assessment will consider

  • Financial need
  • Academic merit
  • Community involvement
  • Demonstrated understanding of how field of study will help contribute to Nova Scotia’s new approach of ecological forestry through sustainable forestry practices and/or the use of products derived from forests
  • Self identification: Indigenous/Aboriginal
  • Preference: enrollment at non-Metro campuses


This opportunity will remain open until the desired number of applications has been reached. Therefore, the NSCC Student Awards Office reserves the right to close this award at anytime.


About the donor
The purpose of this bursary is to encourage individuals to enter forestry-related fields that will contribute to innovation and growth in the forestry sector in Nova Scotia. Over the next four academic years, this bursary will provide financial assistance through bursary awards for eligible NSCC students.
