Nautical 150 Legacy Award
Open to full-time students enrolled in any year of study of eligible marine programs offered by the Nautical Institute at Strait Area Campus.
Eligible programs include:
- Bridge Watch Rating
- Electro Technical Officer
- Marine Engineering Management Technology
- Marine Engineering Technology
- Marine Navigation Technology
- Marine Navigation Management Technology
Application assessment will consider
- Financial need
- Good academic standing
About the award
Established in 1872, the Halifax Marine School was the first technical and vocational institution in the province. While the name and location have changed several times, the Nautical Institute continues Nova Scotia’s maritime legacy – training the next generation of seafarers for the Canadian marine industry. Currently, the NSCC Nautical Institute is part of the NSCC Strait Area Campus, located in Port Hawkesbury, NS.
This award celebrates 150 years of marine training in Nova Scotia by awarding an eligible student $1,750 in the form of an educational credit. The Nautical 150 Legacy Award is generously sponsored by:
