Margaret Cook (nee Boucher) and Dr. David Cook Bursary

Open to full-time students enrolled in any year of study in any program offered at the Strait Area Campus. This award is renewable for students in multi-year programs (based on successful completion of first year in program and remaining in good academic standing).

Application assessment will consider

• Financial need
• Commitment and interest in program
• Good academic standing
• Residency: student must have been born, raised and be currently residing in Nova Scotia
• Preference: resident of Antigonish County

About the donor
Margaret Cook was born and raised in the rural Nova Scotia community of Havre Boucher, Antigonish County. Ms. Cook attended Mount Saint Bernard College (now St. Francis Xavier University). Throughout her extensive career, she worked hard to establish and build a successful business.

Ms. Cook was committed to helping others access a post-secondary education and established this bursary to support students at the NSCC Strait Area Campus, the NSCC location nearest the community where she grew up.
