Awarded to a full-time student(s) who will be enrolled in year 1 of eligible programs at the Ivany Campus. This award is renewable for students in multi-year programs (based on successful completion of first year in program and remaining in good academic standing).
Eligible programs include:
- Civil Engineering Technology
- Environmental Engineering Technology
- Electronic Engineering Technology
- Mechanical Engineering Technology
Students must demonstrate
- Financial need
- Passion for chosen field
- Interest in water resources
- Good academic standing
- Applicants must self-identify as Indigenous (includes First Nations, Métis and Inuit) and must reside in Atlantic Canada
- Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 80% from their most recent education.
Included with this award is an opportunity for the successful recipient to complete their required work term with Halifax Water as well as an opportunity for summer employment with Halifax Water. Conditions of employment, such as criminal background check and a clear Driver’s Abstract, must be met and are at the sole discretion of Halifax Water. Please note that this award is for tuition and fees, other educational costs and the cost of living.

jipuktuk etli apatua’timk is the Mi’kmaq word for harbour or port and has been used to describe Halifax Harbour by Mi’kmaq people in Nova Scotia.
