Brad Tait Memorial Award

Open to full-time students who will be enrolled in year 2 of Building Systems Technician (HVAC&R) at the Ivany Campus.

Application assessment will consider

• Academic performance
• Team spirit and an interest in their trade

About the award
From our humble start in 1921 as an electrical wiring contractor, Black & McDonald has grown to multiple lines of business with more than 5,000 employees working out of 30+ offices, and become one of North America’s most respected integrated, multi-trade service providers.

Brad Tait was a Gold medalist and a participant of skills team Nova Scotia. Brad was a student of the NSCC HVAC program, a registered apprentice and a valued employee of Black & McDonald. In recognition of Brad’s outstanding contribution in developing a high level of team spirit, fellowship and interest in the trades and technological careers, this award will be presented to the candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the Refrigeration Trade.

This award will be selected by Building Systems Technician (HVAC&R) faculty at Ivany Campus. The award will be given to the student who demonstrates the highest academic average upon completion of their first year of studies and who demonstrates team spirit and an interest in their trade.
