About the award
The purpose of the Pamela Gerhardt Legacy Award is to support women that have experienced domestic violence and are looking for an opportunity to attend the College to start a fresh path in life for themselves and their families.

Pamela Jane Gerhardt was born in Halifax in 1956. She completed public school in Moncton, NB and post secondary education at Mount Saint Vincent University. She worked for a number of law firms throughout the Maritimes, as well as Toronto. In addition, she operated her own consulting business and was most proud of her final years of employment with McInnes Cooper in Halifax.

Pam was a devoted mother who took the most pride in the upbringing and constant love she provided to her two daughters. Before her passing, she was very dedicated to a number of charities, most notably the Transition House Association of Nova Scotia and the Halifax Spring Sprint for the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.

Pam will be remembered by her family, friends, and all those who knew her for all the things that make the world a better place – compassion, humility, generosity, and kindness. While she was living with cancer, she implored her family and friends, “Please don’t forget me!”. One way to realize this wish and remember her in a tangible way was the establishment of the Pamela Jane Gerhardt Endowment Fund in 2012.
