Open to full-time students enrolled in year 1 of Human Resource Management at any campus where the eligible program is offered.
Application assessment will consider
- Demonstration of a passion for life and a commitment to pursuing a career in the human resource management field
- Overview of how education has played a role in providing access and opportunity to achieve their goals
- Good academic standing
- Applicants must have an academic average of 80% from fall semester
About the award
Vanessa Hammock worked for the Nova Scotia Public Service Commission for 10 years and held a variety of positions within the department, culminating in her final role as Project Director, Corporate HR Renewal. In 2008, she was recognized with an award from the Government of Nova Scotia for her pioneering and innovative work in the field of Human Resources.
This award celebrates her spirit and legacy by supporting students enrolled in the Human Resource Management Advanced Diploma program at NSCC. It was Vanessa’s wish that this award would give NSCC students encouragement to excel in their HR studies, pursue a career in HR and enjoy a profession that has the potential to make a positive difference to so many people.
