David and Isabel Buller Urram Award
Open to full and part-time students enrolled in any year of study in any program at any campus.
Application assessment will consider
- How the student has overcome obstacles and challenges in their pursuit of post-secondary education
- Why obtaining a post-secondary education is important to the student
- Good academic standing
- Requirement: first person in immediate family to attend post-secondary
- Preference: applicants who self-identify as part of equity deserving groups
About the donor
The David and Isabel Buller Urram Award was established in honour of David and Isabel’s belief in power of education to transform lives. Urram is the Scotts Gaelic term for dignity and respect. As immigrants from Scotland, they fell in love with Nova Scotia and her people on their first visit in 2001.
