Equity in Geomatics Bursary
Open to full-time students enrolled in any year of study in eligible programs at the Centre of Geographic Sciences (COGS) site of the Annapolis Valley Campus.
Eligible programs include:
- Forest Geomatics and Biometrics Technology
- Geographic Information Systems
- Geographic Information Systems – Cartography and Geovisualization
- Geographic Information Systems – Remote Sensing
- Geographic Information Systems Technician
- Geomatics Engineering Technology
- Geospatial Data Analytics
- Marine Geomatics
- Survey Technician
Application assessment will consider
- Interest in and passion for a career in geomatics
- Commitment to lifelong learning
- Supporting a culture of inclusion and belonging
- Good academic standing
- Self-identification: Mi’kmaw/Indigenous, African Nova Scotia, Black or Racially Visible and/or 2SLGBTQIA+
About the award
This bursary has been created to assist those who are interested in and have a passion for a career in the geomatics industry. Recognizing the significant financial, social and cultural barriers that those from equity deserving groups face when pursuing post-secondary education, this bursary will help offset educational costs and hopefully encourage a greater participation in geomatics training and careers.
