Pylon Electronics Michael LaPointe Memorial Award
Open to full-time students enrolled in any year of study at campuses where eligible programs are offered.
Eligible programs include:
- Electro Mechanical Technician
- Electronic Engineering Technician
- Electronic Engineering Technology
- Industrial Instrumentation
- Mechanical Engineering Technology
Application assessment will consider
- Financial need
- Career aspirations and commitment and interest in program
- Community involvement
- Academic merit
- Requirement: minimum average of 70% maintained in program
- Preference: self-identification as female
About the award
Pylon Electronics, a Canadian company, was incorporated in 1955. Pylon Electronics has shown consistent and financially stable growth for over 60 years. Our policy of significant investment in people and products ensures a distinguished reputation for quality in the services that we provide.
Michael LaPointe (Mike) was a dedicated hardworking calibration technician at Pylon Electronics – Atlantic Division, who died suddenly in his home on April 26, 2020. Mike was a proud father, diligent and hardworking, and a very kind-hearted person. He was a NSCC graduate from the Electronics Technician program who enjoyed his work and treated everyone like family. The Pylon Electronics Michael LaPointe Memorial Award was created to honour him.
