About the award
Jason Allen Connell (1977-2014) was a loving father, loyal husband, devoted son and brother, and friend to many. He had a passion and aptitude for creation; restoring cars with his father, building beautiful wooden furniture, and working with his hands to turn ordinary things into objects of beauty and meaning. Jason was a founding and vital employee at Umbian, Inc. (now ResMed Halifax) where he served as Director of Engineering and resident technology expert in Halifax. His “whatever it takes” mantra was, and remains, a driving force behind the company’s success.
Jason graduated from the College of Geographic Sciences (COGS) with an honours certificate in Computer Programming. This award was established to honour Jason, celebrate his life and remember the way he positively impacted so many others.
