Growing Nova Scotia's Skilled Trades Workforce Bursary College and Job Readiness Fund

Open to full-time student recipients of the Growing Nova Scotia’s Skilled Trades Workforce Bursary. This college and job readiness fund further supports bursary recipients who, due to financial need circumstances, may experience challenge in purchasing necessary educational items to ensure success in their program and/or future career. Students can review their letters of offer in the student awards portal to confirm that they are a recipient and are eligible for this additional funding.

Please note: This fund will remain open until all funds have been committed. Applications will be assessed regularly and the fund may close prior to the posted deadline.

Some examples of support requests may include:

• Textbooks
• Supplies
• Uniforms
• Certifications, optional training or other career readiness opportunities
• Professional development

Application assessment will consider

• Financial need
• Interest and commitment to program
• Good academic standing

About the donor
Nova Scotia is in an incredible period of growth and development as it strives to double its population by 2060. To address the needs of the province, a focus has been placed on growing the skilled trades workforce and removing barriers for those wishing to enter these careers. On October 19, 2023, the Government of Nova Scotia announced the Actions to Accelerate the Growth of Skilled Trades in Nova Scotia. One of the actions is to create the ‘Growing Nova Scotia’s Skilled Trades Workforce Bursary’ at NSCC for two years. This bursary is proudly offered by the Government of Nova Scotia. The Growing Nova Scotia’s Skilled Trades Workforce Bursary College and Job Readiness Fund will support bursary recipients with access to funds for tools and equipment needed to be successful in their educational journey.
