Growing Nova Scotia’s Skilled Trades Workforce Cost of Living Bursary
Open to full-time students, who are enrolled in any year of study, at any campus where eligible programs are offered.

Application assessment will consider
- Financial need
- Interest and commitment to program
- Good academic standing
- Preference: self-identification as a member of an equity deserving group such as Mi’kmaw/Indigenous, Black/African Nova Scotian, as well as members of racially visible communities, persons with disabilities, persons of a minority sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, women; and newcomers/recent immigrants.

About the donor
Nova Scotia is in an incredible period of growth and development as it strives to double its population by 2060. To address the needs of the province, a focus has been placed on growing the skilled trades workforce and removing barriers for those wishing to enter these careers. On October 19, 2023, the Government of Nova Scotia announced the Actions to Accelerate the Growth of Skilled Trades in Nova Scotia. One of the actions is to create the ‘Growing Nova Scotia’s Skilled Trades Workforce Bursary’ at NSCC for two years. This bursary is proudly offered by the Government of Nova Scotia. The Growing Nova Scotia’s Skilled Trades Workforce Bursary College and Job Readiness Fund will support bursary recipients with access to funds for tools and equipment needed to be successful in their educational journey.
