About the award
Albert Anderson was the Student Services Officer at the NSCC Pictou Campus from 1991-1998, when he passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Before he passed away, he established the bursary that now bears his name.

Throughout his career, Al was a strong advocate for students and this was especially true during his time employed at the NSCC Pictou Campus. It was his desire to have a bursary established that assists students who have struggled to overcome obstacles to better themselves through education and training at the Nova Scotia Community College.
